When is the First Match of IPL 2025? When & Where are the Playoffs and Final?

The Stage is set for the brand-new season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which will kick off on Saturday, 22nd March. This is the 18th Season of IPL. IPL has been the best T20 league across the Globe. There is no other league that comes close to the IPL. In the opening match of IPL 2025, the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are going to take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who recently announced their new skipper, Rajat Patidar. This inaugural match will be on the home ground of the defending Champions, i.e. Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

On the other hand, the runner-up from last season, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), will take the field on the second day, i.e. Sunday, 23rd March. SRH will be up against the champions of the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) Rajasthan Royals (RR). This match will be a home game for SRH as the venue of this match is the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad. This game will be a day game and will start at 3:30 PM (IST).

This season will also bring some new exciting venues into play, apart from the 10 usual venues ( i.e. Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Mohali, Delhi, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Hyderabad ), fans of Guwahati and Dharamsala will get some live action in their hometown.

Rajasthan Royals have chosen Guwahati as their second home ground and they will play two matches there. The first match will be against KKR on 26th March and the second one will be against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on 30th March, both will be a night match. Dharamshala may host three matches as well as it will be the second home ground of Punjab Kings (PBKS).

On the other hand, Qualifier 2 and the Finals are rescheduled to be played on the 1st of June and 3rd of June, respectively, on the world's largest stadium, Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
