France U-17 took on Portugal U-17 in the UEFA U-17 European Championship Final on 1st June 2025 at 6:30 PM GMT at the Arena Kombetare in Albania. It was at the 30th minute when Cunha's viscious cross into the box wasn't cleared well, Diandaga tried to clear it on a second attempt, but the defender fluffed his lines, which Cabral took full advantage of and slotted it neatly past the diving Jourden to give Portugal the lead in the high-voltage clash. Just eight minutes later, the Portuguese goalkeeper, Romario Cunha, launched a ball high into the France half, which was not dealt with properly. Cabral just headed the ball in Cunha's path, and the winger used his pace to his full potential to get past a dangling Diandaga and calmly nutmegged Jourden to double the lead for the away side.

In the second half, France started well by keeping the ball at their feet, but Portugal slowly grew into the game, just like they did in the first half. In the 60th minute, Neves, who came off the bench at the 58th-minute mark, tripled Portugal's lead through a sublime finish from the left past the helpless Jourden. Goalkeeper:

Ilan Jourden - 5/10

The goalkeeper could have done better for the second goal, which Cunha calmly placed between his legs. Jourden looked a bit unsettled with the ball at his feet, too, as he failed to show composure several times.

Defenders:

Kyllian Antonio - 5.5/10

The right back held his line well throughout the game. Antonio combined well with Matondo on the right but was kept on his toes by Stevan Manuel of Portugal.

Hermann Diandaga - 6/10

The centre back lunged in several crunch tackles at the right moment to stop the Portuguese attackers.

Emmanuel Mbemba Nlandu - 5/10

It was Nlandu's mistake that presented Cabral with the chance for the first goal, as he failed to clear his lines properly. For the second goal, he failed to hold on to Cunha as the Portuguese managed to get past the defender after a bit of wrestling.

Lucas Batbedat - 6/10

The left back was hassled many a time by Cunha on the right, as he failed to contain the winger at important times.

Midfielders:

Rudy Matondo - 5.5/10

Matondo was lively down the right wing, as he took on the Portuguese right back and delivered quality crosses at times.

Abdoulaye Camara - 6/10

Camara was at fault as he failed to resist the Portuguese press in the midfield, as he gave away the ball cheaply in the middle of the park, which ultimately found the back of the net through Neves.

Paul Abdou Eymard - 5.5/10

Eymard had a similar game to his midfield partner Camara. The defensive midfielder didn't have much to do the whole game, as he was marked quite well by Souto Mide.

Remi Stephane Himbert - 5/10

Himbert tried his best on the left-hand side, but had a tough time defending against the likes of Cunha and Souto Mide.

Forwards:

Djibril Coulibaly - 5.5/10

Coulibaly tried to hold the ball at times and played quite a few neat one-twos with his teammates. Overall, he didn't get many supplies in the penalty box.

Djylian N'Guessan - 6/10

Same as Coulibaly, the forward had a good chance at the edge of the box but skied it way above the crossbar.

Banjaqui held the defensive line quite well, putting in crucial tackles at a time or two.

Martim Chelmik Santos Antune - 6/10

Antune helped his compatriot quite well. Helped Portugal maintain the defensive shape and played quite a few good balls over the top.

Mauro Landim Furtado - 6.5/10

Furtado again proved his worth, as he was rock-solid at the back. He held the French forwards quite well and cleared the dangerous crosses from Matondo.

Jose Pedro Formoso Neto - 6/10

The left back was quite lively throughout the game. Neto constantly put pressure on the French left-back and came back to defend as well when it was required.

Midfielders:

Mateus Souto Mide - 6/10

Souto Mide was quite lively throughout the game. He was the one who won the ball at the edge of the French penalty box to provide Cabral with a golden opportunity for the first goal.

Rafael Jose Mestre Quintas - 6/10

The defensive midfielder performed his duties well, as he made many crucial tackles in the middle and directed the ball towards the forwards at the right time.

Bernardo Pinto Lima - 6.5/10

Lima had a similar game to his partner Quintas. The defensive midfielder dropped in between the centre-backs to provide that added depth on defence.

Forwards:

Duarte Lopes Cunha - 7.5/10

Cunha was the main man in the Portuguese attack, as his vicious cross led to the first goal, and he scored the second goal to calm the nerves for Portugal a bit.

Anisio Claudio Fernandes Reis Cabral - 7/10

Cabral used his body well in the centre of the park. The centre-forward used his physicality to hold the ball neatly and turned provider for Cunha's goal.

Stevan Pedro Dores Manuel - 6/10

Manuel was like a live wire down the left flank. The winger caused great problems for the French right-back as he cut in quite a few times to take a shot with his right foot, but was unlucky on the special night.
