Rockstar Games has finally released the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, and it has done more than just give us a taste of new characters and stunning graphical fidelity. From quick cuts of different activities to jammed scenes in the trailer, we saw an exhilarating peek into the realm of side activities. These addictively time-consuming distractions make an open-world sandbox feel alive and personal.

From pumping iron on Vice Beach to splashing through the waters of Leonida while jet skiing, there is so much to be excited about if you live to stray away from the main story for a little bit. Here, we will break down all of the confirmed side activities in GTA 6 that were spotted in Trailer 2, and the official screenshots released by Rockstar Games.

All Side Activities in GTA 6

Rockstar has a history of putting side content right into its trailers, and GTA 6 is no different. Whether it's Lucia in an MMA cage or Jason fishing by a riverbank, these short clips indicate a plethora of gameplay options beyond the usual crime and chaos.

So, here is a full summary of every revealed side activity in GTA 6 as shown in the second trailer, along with official screenshots released on the day the trailer was released.

Workout (Gym)

In the trailer's opening scenes, we see Jason Duval lifting weights on Vice Beach. In another official screenshot, Lucia is hitting the bag in training, confirming the return of the fitness system that we last saw in GTA: San Andreas, meaning that it should allow you to increase muscle mass, increase stamina, and it may even lead to some combat advantages.

When it has an effect on your physical appearance, like CJ in San Andreas, remains to be seen—but it is easily one of the most impactful side activities.

MMA Fighting

Lucia isn't only training for beauty—she's also going in a cage. A short but intense snippet in the trailer shows her going one-on-one in what looks to be an underground MMA-style fight.

This probably indicates a fully-fledged fighting mini-game, or a combat ringside quest! We wouldn't be surprised to see some form of ranking system, unlockable moves, or even a quest line surrounding this activity.

Fishing

We see Jason catching fish with a rod, with a casual look full of laid-back Gosling vibes. Rockstar confirmed in screenshots that there is fishing again.

But the real question is: fun, food, or profit? Knowing Rockstar adds depth to what seems to be simple activities, it would be safe to presume this is just the start of fishing.

Pool (Billiards)

In a muted bar setting, you find Jason playing pool with his friend Cal. Rockstar has used pool before in titles like GTA IV, and the fact that it shows up here shows it is potentially part of a broader range of indoor hobbies. Perhaps in traditional Rockstar fashion, it will also feature darts or card games in the same location.

Mini Golf

Mini golf is a new addition. One official screenshot shows Cal Hampton on a colorful mini-golf course, so it seems this lower-stakes activity could provide a low-key respite from all the normal high-speed craziness.

And, if Rockstar's history is any indication, the feeling of the mechanics should be smooth and surprisingly compelling.

Scuba Diving

A dive beneath the water in the trailer shows a diver exploring the flora and fauna found in the waters of Leonida. Screenshots from Rockstar confirm that scuba diving will be part of the game, though it could be for only the purposes of diving wrecks, gathering hidden loot, or simply enjoying a fully realized underwater ecosystem.

Basketball

Basketball courts appear in two significant moments in the trailer—first in a broad aerial shot, and also from the perspective of the hoop attached to Jason's home. This clearly indicates basketball is returning as a side activity, which we haven't seen since the fifth installment of GTA: San Andreas.

Whether it involves one-on-one games, mini-tournaments, trick shots, or something else, remains to be seen, but things seem promising to say the least.

Hunting

Hunting will take place in Mount Kalaga National Park, as stated on Rockstar’s official site. Clips and screenshots have shown armed characters in wooded areas that parallel the mechanics in Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA V.

Expect to see a complete set of possible mechanics, such as tracking, skinning a hunted animal, and perhaps crafting and trade mechanics.

Dirt Bike Racing

Off-road racing has always been a fan favorite, and it seems that GTA 6 is bringing back dirt bike racing.

There's an electrifying shot in the trailer that shows riders blazing through the rugged tracks of Mount Kalaga. This could also mean competitive racing, time trials, and terrain challenges as well.

Kayaking

Another unexpected addition is kayaking, featured in a screenshoot that depicts the characters canoeing leisurely down a green-hued river.

This may serve merely as a calming activity, or perhaps become part of a mission where you need to travel disguised across water. In any case, it adds yet another way for players to navigate the game environment.

Clubbing

People have seen Lucia and Jason partying in high-end clubs under neon lights with a whole group of people on the dance floor. Considering GTA's past with nightclubs, specifically in GTA Online, this probably won't be simply cosmetic.

They could have any number of things planned, such as minigames for dancing, networking-type missions, and even business management.

Watching TV

A brief, yet significant moment shows an Ammu-Nation advertisement playing on a flat-screen in the living room of an apartment building, with a parody PS5 sitting below it. This alludes to the return of TV watching as a hobby, something that Rockstar has often used to poke fun at things, provide game lore, or settle into a comedic interlude.

You can expect original productions and commercials, or even ones full of tongue-in-cheek humor.

Play Video Games

The presence of a console hooked up to the TV hints at the ability to play video games within GTA 6—a meta experience reminiscent of the arcade machines in GTA Online. Whether these are full minigames or interactive cutscenes, Rockstar is clearly doubling down on immersion.

Grand Theft Auto 6 looks to be one of Rockstar’s biggest games yet, but the devs are also showing us a lot of clips showing that the anti-swerving open world means lots of interactive side activities. From serious underground MMA fights to underground dirt bike races, to just relaxing with fishing, mini golf, or kayaking, GTA 6 is not just adding content, but looks like it is delivering on a wider spectrum of ways for players to engage with their world outside of the “core” missions.

Whether you are a player who wants to get lost in the deepest crime storylines or spend hours on and off the court shooting baskets or diving under water, all of the activities that will be part of the side activities will seem to be about players having fun and engaging without time-limited lag.
