GTA 6 Map Leaks Reveals Promising Update About Vice City and 100+ Other Locations

GTA 6 is set to release on 26 May 2026 and is looking to be the biggest drop in the history of Rockstar Games. The open-world franchise has been an iconic series since its first-ever installment was released (in 1997). The series introduced genre-defining, intense storylines with an open-world map to explore. Since the announcement of the GTA 6 release, there have been several leaks online that suggest various things about the map.

Rockstar Games never fails to amaze its fans. Each iteration pushes the envelope of creativity, gameplay, and storytelling. GTA V proved to be the most profitable and loved game that Rockstar has ever produced. Now, owing to this massive success, GTA 6 leaks show promising adventure and exploration.

The upcoming title will feature two protagonists, Jason and Lucia. This is the first time that GTA is going along with a female protagonist. Old School fans will also get a chance to relive and explore the essence of GTA Vice City and dip their toes into the Miami world once more.

GTA 6 City Location & Setting

The latest leak of GTA 6 will give fans a clear view of what they can expect from the upcoming game. There is no doubt that Rockstar Games has enormous pressure to live up to the hype and expectations of the players. Rockstar might go overboard with creativity, characters, map size, and the featured locations.
GTA 6 is set in the fictional USA of Leonida, which draws heavy inspiration from Florida. The central hub of the game will be Vice City, where the entire storyline will take place. The iconic city was first introduced in GTA: Vice City, which was the fourth installment of the GTA series. The city has vibrant colors with lively beaches and neon-lit streets that create a vibe for the players.
Set in the modern-day landscape of Miami, gamers can expect to find 3 major cities with their own particular gimmick, along with 4 sub-cities within the game. There will most likely be a lake in the middle of the city with smaller landmarks and areas acting as fillers.

GTA 6 All Locations

The whole GTA 6 will be a direct sequel to GTA V while also paying homage to GTA Vice City. GTA 6’s events are scheduled to take place in Leonida, a city that resembles Miami. Various scenes from GTA 6 seemed to be poking fun at numerous real-life incidents in Florida and memes that flooded the internet from that area.

Here’s the list of countries and regions that are most likely to be a part of GTA 6. Note: The developers have not yet verified these locations, and the names and themes might change.

The title will feature three major cities in GTA 6, along with the sub-cities and areas that will be part of the game. First, let us take a look at all the counties that fans can expect to see in the game.

Vice Dale County

Vice Dale County will serve as the central hub in the fictional state of Leonida in GTA 6. The Vice-Dale County includes the thriving Vice City, inspired by Miami, and the surrounding territories. This area is home to the Vice-Dale Police Department (VDPD), which was styled after the Miami-Dade Police Department. The region features vehicles like the Vapid Police Cruiser and the Buffalo STX, which have a distinctive green and white livery. The county also features a basketball arena in Kaseya Center, which hints at the addition of NBA-related aspects of the game. The Vice Dale also consists of the Twin Tower Condo Block, which will most likely serve as the staple building for Leonida. The game also features several ports of Vice City, beaches, nightclubs, strip clubs, and vibrant street graffiti.

Kelly County

Kelly County is a rural and marshy area featured in GTA 6, which is modeled after Florida’s Everglades. Kelly County is known for its backwoods settlements, extensive wetlands, and wildlife, providing a striking contrast to Vice City’s urban expansion. Players can also expect confrontations with Kelly County Sheriff’s Office law enforcement, unusual missions, and off-road terrains. In addition to increasing the variety of the open-world experience and offering chances for stealth, exploration, and unorthodox gameplay, the setting gives a grimy, atmospheric layer.

Leonard County

Leonard County is also set in Leonida. It is serving as a counterpart to Vice City’s urban expansion. It has numerous locations, like the town of Waning Sands, which is governed by the Leonard County Sheriff’s Office. This setting introduces players to rural scenery and small-town dynamics.

Ambrosia County

Ambrosia County is another location in Leonida, which was revealed in GTA 6's second trailer. It is known for its Allied Crystal Sugar Refinery, which serves as the major hub for sugar production. Ambrosia is apparently controlled by the biker gang called the Final Chapter MC. The studio has also provided screenshots of burning fields in the area, which suggests that there might be a mission related to burning crops in the game.

Mariana County

Mariana County is another region whose insertion in the game was confirmed when it was seen in the second trailer of the game. It is located in southwest Leonida. Its name is most probably inspired by the real Marion County in Florida. More details of this county are still unknown.

Grassrivers

Grassrivers is also featured in GTA 6, which is a natural area of flooded grasslands. Its wetland zone is situated in the southern part of Leonida. It is inspired by the real-life Florida Everglades. The region was initially mentioned in GTA 6 leaks that came out in 2022. However, later the Grassrivers officially appeared in the game’s first trailer.

Leonida Keys

The Leonida Keys comprise tropical islands on the southern coast. It was seen in the second trailer that Jason's starting apartment is located in this region. Here, you'll find true beach bums. According to Rockstar, the bars here are loaded, and the dress code is casual.

Mount Kalaga National Park

Mount Kalaga National Park was also shown in the second trailer of GTA 6. It is a national park situated on the northern border of Leonida. In this location you can try various activities like boating, fishing, hunting, racing, and helicopter rides as well. These activities will give a thrilling and refreshing experience to players.

Other Confirmed Locations

Apart from the major counties, cities, and Everglades, the new leaks seem to have confirmed more locations on the map. For starters, gamers can expect to visit SERA aka NASA in the game, a wild adventure into space, or a run-in with extraterrestrial life. Gamers can also explore domed hills, Gloriana State, Malibu Club, Military Base, Monument of Leonida, Red Hill Forest, various ports, north beaches, large swathes of swamplands, and more.

Gamers can expect 70% more land area to explore, as the map is not only significantly bigger, but it also contains small island areas located in the southern section.
