The IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala was interrupted midway due to the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan. The authorities earlier claimed that it was a floodlight failure, but later, it became clear that the Kings vs Capitals match was stopped due to possible attacks from the Pakistan side across the border.

Recently, the Indian Army launched a brutal attack under the ‘Operation Sindoor’ on the terrorist camps in Pakistan. The situation at the border is tense at the moment, with both sides on high alert.

The HPCA stadium in Dharamsala was immediately evacuated by the IPL authorities due to security reasons. It is something that has never been seen before in cricket. The spectators expected the PBKS vs DC match to continue after a suspected floodlight failure, but the authorities decided against taking any risk.

Will the PBKS vs DC Match Be Played Again?

The 58th match of IPL 2025 between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was cancelled midway when the former team was batting. However, according to Express Sports, it has been confirmed that the match will be held again when the IPL resumes. The league has been halted for a week with the tensions between India and Pakistan rising to a different level.

After the IPL resumes, there will be a PBKS vs DC rematch. However, the venue of the match is not confirmed. The exact dates are yet to be decided, and the league's governing council is set to announce the IPL 2025 new dates in due course. The news will be a relief for the fans, who feared for the future of the IPL 2025 season.

The PBKS vs DC match is important for both teams as they aim to book a place in the playoffs. While Punjab Kings have 14 points in 11 matches so far and are in a better position to qualify, Delhi Capitals needed a win desperately to move further. A no-result would have surely affected Delhi's chances of making it to the playoffs.

Earlier, DC had started the tournament brilliantly and were on top of the points table for most of the first half. However, they seem to have lost momentum in the second half of the tournament and have lost 4 out of their last 8 matches. Their last match against SRH also ended in a no-result as it was washed out due to rain.

PBKS Dominate DC

In the match that was later cancelled, Punjab Kings continued their brilliant batting form earlier in the game as they scored 122-1 in just 10.1 overs before the match was stopped. Their openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh gave them an excellent start yet again as they put up an excellent opening partnership. Both youngsters were expressive in their strokeplay and didn't back away from playing aggressive cricket.

Arya, who has been in phenomenal form this season, was finally dismissed by the left-armer T Natarajan for a well-made 34-ball-70. He struck 5 fours and 6 sixes during his knock. After the fall of his wicket, the match was called off as the officials termed it a technical failure. Meanwhile, Prabhsimran Singh remained unbeaten on 50 off just 28 balls at the other end.

The Kings were moving towards a huge first innings total on a flat Dharamsala wicket before the PBKS vs DC match was stopped due to security concerns. The BCCI later held an immediate meeting regarding the future games of IPL 2025. IPL chairman Arun Dhumal later made it clear that the tournament would continue until further notice from the Indian government. However, it was decided that the league would be suspended for one week, keeping everyone's safety and sentiments in mind.
