This season of IPL 2025 has been great so far, in which many new records have been made. Talking about the highest team score and the highest run chases, this record has been broken every season. There is no doubt that every IPL team has the power to score more than 200 runs in an innings. Kolkata Knight Riders saw their target of 262 being chased down by Punjab Kings in IPL 2024.

It is the highest run chase in IPL history. Before that, Rajasthan Royals held the record for the highest run chase in the Indian Premier League when it shot down 223 runs against Punjab Kings in 2020.

10. Lucknow Super Giants | 213/4

In IPL 2024, Lucknow Super Giants created havoc and chased down 2011 runs target set by Chennai Super Kings. Batting first after losing the toss, Chennai scored 210 runs for four wickets. Rituraj Gaikwad played an unbeaten innings of 108 runs for CSK. In reply, Lucknow achieved the target by losing four wickets in 19.3 overs. Marcus Stoinis remained unbeaten after scoring 124 runs in 63 balls.

9. Mumbai Indians | 214/4

In IPL 2023 Mumbai Indians scored 2014 against Rajasthan Royals to make a mark in the league. In this clash more than 200 runs were scored by both the sides. Rajasthan Royals, batting first, scored 212/7 with the help of Yashasvi Jaiswal's century. In response, Mumbai Indians scored 214/4 in 19.3 overs with the help of brilliant contributions of Cameron Green, Surya Kumar Yadav and Tim David and registered one of the highest run chases till date in the history of IPL.

8. Mumbai Indians | 216/4

In the 46th match of IPL 2023, Mumbai Indians defeated Punjab Kings by 6 wickets and created history. Chasing the target of 215 runs, Mumbai achieved the target of 2016 in just 18.5 overs. Tilak Verma gave his team victory by hitting a six. Nathan Ellis took a maximum of 2 wickets for Punjab. It is one of the highest chases in IPL.

7. Sunrisers Hyderabad | 217/6

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) and scored 217 runs while chasing in IPL 2023. The result of the match was decided out on the last ball. Rajasthan gave a target of 215 runs, which Hyderabad achieved by losing 6 wickets. Hyderabad needed 17 runs to win in the last over, but Sandeep Sharma could not defend it. Abdul Samad hit the winning six. Earlier, Rajasthan scored 214 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 20 overs but failed to defend the score.

6. Mumbai Indians | 219/6

Mumbai Indians registered the fourth-highest successful run chase in IPL by defeating Chennai Super Kings by 4 wickets in the 27th match of IPL 2021 and scoring 219 runs. In this match, played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and invited Chennai to bat first. Chennai scored 218 runs for 4 wickets. In response, the Mumbai team won by losing 6 wickets on the last ball and scoring 2019 runs.

5. Rajasthan Royals | 224/8

Rajasthan Royals chased and scored 224 runs against KKR to register the 3rd highest run chase. RR Opener Jos Buttler (107 not out) single-handedly gave Rajasthan Royals (RR) an incredible two-wicket win against KKR in the 31st match of IPL 2024. Batting first at the Eden Gardens ground on Tuesday, Kolkata scored 223/6 thanks to Sunil Narayan's (109) first century. But Rajasthan scored 224 in the last ball with two wickets remaining on the basis of Buttler's match-winning century.

4. Rajasthan Royals | 226/6

In IPL 2020, Rajasthan Royals defeated Punjab Kings by 4 wickets and chased down a historic target. Rajasthan got this victory on the basis of brilliant innings of Sanju Samson (85), Steve Smith (50) and Rahul Tewatia (50). Earlier, the Punjab team gave RR a huge target of 224 runs in 20 overs to Rajasthan with the help of Mayank Agarwal's 106 and KL Rahul's 69 runs. Rajasthan Royals scored 226-6 runs in 19.3 overs to chase the target of 224 runs of Punjab Kings and registered the second-highest run chase in IPL history.

3. Royal Challengers Bengaluru | 230/4

On May 27, 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) chased a massive 228 runs against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow during the IPL 2025. LSG batted first and scored 227, led by their captain Rishabh Pant’s brilliant 118 runs. RCB’s chase began strongly with Virat Kohli’s quick fifty, but they struggled at 123/4. Jitesh Sharma then smashed 85 runs off 33 balls with big shots, and with Mayank Agarwal’s support, RCB won by 6 wickets in 18.4 overs, marking their biggest IPL chase ever and securing a spot in Qualifier 1.

2. Sunrisers Hyderabad | 247/2

In the match against Punjab Kings, SRH registered one of the historic chases in the history of the indian Premier League at their home ground, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. After losing back-to-back 4 games, SRH lost the toss and was invited to bowl first. PBKS, while batting first, scored a massive 246 runs. Shreyas Iyer Punjab Kings captain, led the team from the front and scored 82 runs in just 36 balls. The way he was batting was so pleasing for the cricket fans, however, he got out on 82 runs. While chasing a massive total of 246 runs, SRH's opening batters came all guns blazing. Abhishek Sharma scored a brilliant century, and his opening partner, Travis Head, also scored a half-century. They had an opening partnership of 171 runs in just 12.2 overs, which made the match one-sided in favour of SRH, and in the end, SRH won the match by 8 wickets in just 18.3 overs.

Punjab Kings registered the highest ever run chase in IPL by a historic win by 8 wickets in the match played at Eden Gardens against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024. This has become the most successful run chase in the history of T20 cricket and the IPL. Kolkata Knight Riders, batting first, scored 261 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Punjab Kings won the match with 8 balls to spare, thanks to Jonny Bairstow's century and Prabhsimran-Shashank's half-centuries. Punjab scored 262 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 18.4 overs.
